Luanda Earns a superior for Musical Solo in District Competition, Now Onto States

Despite more than double of the number of seniors, juniors, and sophomores competing for one of seven musical solo spots in the District and State Competitions, Luanda landed one of those spots as a sophomore. She will be singing the challenging piece “Here I Am” from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

She has been taking vocal lessons from Rebeca Diaz for a number of years who chose this challenging piece for Luanda. The music includes a dance interlude where Luanda performs some of her own choreography. Here is the recording sent to districts of her performance at BrandStar Studio:

Luanda Receives Superior At Districts

Luanda’s received a superior rating along with all of the other students from her drama club. For superior rating was for her solo Musical number.

Off to States

Because of Covid 19, the students will be submitting video recordings of the performances to the State competition.
